  34. However, there is a certain amount of work involved in
  35. converting to the point that I could test it to see
  36. how well it works.  The FlagShip people talk like there
  37. is essentially no work involved in converting the DOS
  38. Clipper code to FlagShip, but past experience with
  39. similar claims makes me disbelieve this.  I haven't
  40. given up on it, though.  I do have the FlagShip demo
  41. installed and have compiled and run one of their small
  42. test programs.  The test program is ugly, to my eyes,
  43. so at the very least, FlagShip is not showing off their
  44. product to best advantage.  At least with dosemu, my
  45. exact same DOS executable runs, without requiring any
  46. recompiling or relinking whatsoever.  The FlagShip
  47. compiler would cost $620 (including shipping).  Naturally,
  48. I'd like to avoid that cost, all else being equal.

  50.      I'm happy to hear other opinions and/or experience

  53.      Right now Kermit and Linux/dosemu is looking pretty
  54. good, and Kermit support is helping me work out a few
  55. remaining kinks (which aren't really Kermit problems,
  56. as far as I can tell).  When things stabilize, I'll post
  57. the details of how I get it all to work together.
